News Submitted by Jamie Bramley 16/12/17 1839pm- Love Lane tomorrow is OFF, More to follow..

Love Lanes 2 man team matches tomorrow 17/12/17 are OFF in respect of the safety of bowlers. The green is currently like an ice rink and very dangerous to stand on. The forecast is for a freezing start followed by steady rain and so the games will now be rescheduled for the 21st of January. As Heather and I are named as taking full responsibility for others safety this is a correct decision from our point of view. Sadly i also have a very serious family matter currently ongoing in Scotland. The nature of this means i may have to travel to Scotland at very short notice. Therefore a combination of factors make it an easy decision to postpone. I think this is the first time since Love Lane began we have lost two weeks of play. We fully expect looking at the long term forecast to play on Christmas eve where we have a healthy entry level. Thank you for your support and see you all soon.

News Submitted by Jamie Bramley 16/12/17 1708pm- Heather and I are currently assessing weather reports and conditions ahead of tomorrow. We have had reports on the state of the green and a decision about tomorrow will appear here before 9pm.

News Submitted by Jamie Bramley- 03/12/17 Another great Sunday in the two man team which is proving to be extremely popular. I may have to add another week to the calendar to complete all the fixtures more to follow about that soon. Ive had a chat with many about the events that are popular at Love Lane including sending out text messages. On that basis and looking at the number of entries we recieve i have decided to cancel the singles championships. Therefore it will be blank this campaign as we cannot sustain the entries to make it viable. Singles will continue through the two man team and another event i have planned in the New Year. Its just a shame but its evident from entries that the singles is not drawing the entries our time and effort deserves. The christmas calendar will look as follows.

10th December- Mini League

17th December- Two man Team

24th December- Kings at Christmas Pairs

31st December- TBA

Thanks for your continued support of all our events

News Submitted by Jamie Bramley- Congratulations to Danielle Miller and Heather Bramley who came through to win the pairs on Sunday a brilliant ahcievement. As mentioned on sunday there has been a breakway set up from the usual round robins. It might be worth some of you wanting a game on TUESDAY afternoons taking a look at whats going on. Remembering to represent us well and carry your council permit with you this could be the tide slowly turning...

We will again be running the christmas eve pairs Kings at Christmas which falls on a Sunday this year advertising will begin shortly. This coming Sunday we have not decided what to run will be looking at the numbers so please get in touch if your wishing to bowl.  Finally for a hectic newsround The Lakes team will be picked after christmas so keep playing and as ever make it known if you wish to be considered.

News Submitted by Jamie Bramley- The Hall of fame selections have now been made on the relevant page. We are taking entries for the fixed pairs on 19th November contact Jamie or Heather through the usual channels for more information.

News Submitted By Jamie Bramley- I have been made aware of posts on facebook from sour bitter individuals who feel they have an axe to grind against our Sunday sweeps. When i started the sweeps six years ago it was to give bowlers somewhere to play in winter in a competitive environment. Six years on and we are still flourishing more than ever and thats enough for me to ignore these people trying to sabotage us. In response to last weekend none of our Sunday sweep team or players breached rules designated by the council. I am proud we kept professional i personally found no need to respond to jibes on facebook from people who should no better with nothing better to do. The fact they post things with nothing factually correct within its content proves enough to me. Callng round robin style events random pairs and then bragging about breaking council rules is highly laughable. Despite slanderous comments against my name again we continue professionally with no response on social media and thank everyone for there excellent support so far this winter. I should also add Heather and I have encouraged others to attend the round robin and never once made damaging comments about it. We have always remained professional and appreciate others putting time and effort in to run bowling events.

News Submitted By Jamie Bramley- Having looked at the alternative venue offered to us for Sunday we have decided not to run a sweep, enjoy your lie in!. The green and facilities were simply not up to scratch for operating a good competition. We will maintain our relationships with the council and follow their wishes of not using Love Lane. We return then on the 12th of November with the second round of games in the Two Man team the fixtures are now online on the Two man Team Page.

You can also enter in advance our Fixed Pairs for the 19th, Remember you cannot partner your two man team partner in this. Submit your entries using the box below.

News Submitted By Jamie Bramley -The Heaton Norris recreation bonfire means the hut is out of bounds on both Saturday and Sunday. Although the round robin organisers are running their competition on Saturday it is against council wishes. It is our intention to maintain our professional and forward thinking approach for Love Lane. In order to keep our current good working relationship with the council we will NOT be running anything on the park next weekend. A few people have asked can we find an alternative venue for next week. A decision on this matter will be made at some point on Monday.

News Submitted for John Cunningham- Tesco bags of help scheme is supporting Stockport Parks Crown Green Bowling at Thornfield Park in November & December. Please collect the tokens every time you visit Tesco's, you may have to ask for them and there is no minimum spend, but only deposit them at one of the stores listed below in the "Brilliant Crown Green Bowling" box at the exit of Tesco's. The scheme with the most tokens gets the most money, so every token counts. If you are not near any of the stores listed, please still collect the tokens and near the end of December let us know and we will arrange to collect them.
